Before rigging a new sail, Its a good idea to coat the mast top section all the way to the area above the boom with a rag impregnated with wax or a non staining dry lubricant. This lubricant will eventually coat the inside of the luff sock, making it very easy to rig your sails.

Image 1 : Choose a grassy area if possible, and unroll the sail so the head is downwind of you.
Do this staying low to the ground to avoid the sail flapping in the wind.
Place the boom on top of the sail, by the foot, to keep the sail from flying away.
Insert the mast extension into the mast and choose the appropriate amount of extension, as written on the foot of the sail.

Image 2 : Insert the mast into the luff sock and push the mast up until it goes through the boom cutout.

Images 3, 4 : Help the luff slide over the mast by pulling down on the luff, then by pulling the extra material below it downward.

Image 5 : Next, slide the sail down the mast by bracing the inserted extension against a tree or some obstacle.

Image 6 : Do it slowly and watch the mast tip so it slides up the sail. As it gets closer to the top, help that part of the sail by pulling it down the mast.

Image 7 : When you have the mast tip sitting within a few inches from the top of the sail, push the top of the sail so the head plug insert goes inside the past top plug. You can guide the insert with your finger inserted inside the sail.

Image 8, 9 : Once the tip is inserted, return to the foot, always holding onto the mast. Pull the rest of the luff down the mast. You can use the handle sewn on the foot.
