Image 10 : Thread the downhaul line and downhaul by hand until you feel resistance.

Image 11 : Most advanced sailors will downhaul all the way first, then connect the boom. However, if you don’t have strong hands, connect the boom to the mast at this stage as there is less tension in the boom cutout material. Install the boom on the mast.

Image 12, 13 : Connect the boom clamp to the mast. Using a small lanyard attached to the inhaul, it is easy to thread the line into the boom clamp hook.

Image 14 & 11 (on left): Once the front end is clamped, downhaul fully by using a downhaul crank. This is recommended to prevent damage to your spine.

Image 15 : Place the excess downhaul line inside the mesh pocket in the fairing.

Next, outhaul the sail. Pull to within one cm of the rear end and fine tune for the conditions.

If this is the first time you are rigging your sail, you must tension the battens so as to remove the wrinkles.

Image 15 :After the sail is rigged, connect the rig to the board, looping the tack strap around the top of the mast foot. You don’t need to tension this strap, it simply holds this area in line with the rest of the foot.

Note: After you use your new sail for the first time, you will need to re-tension the battens again, as the sail stretches and settles to its desired shape.
